Several Noxubee County industries specialize in the production of wood products and food manufacturing.  Leading employers include:

Peco Foods of Mississippi, Inc.
Peco Foods grows, processes, and markets poultry with plants, mills, and hatcheries in Alabama and Mississippi.  They are the 13th largest poultry producer in the United States. The Brooksville processing plant has been operating in Noxubee County since 1993 and employs 232 workers.

Shuqualak Lumber Company, Inc.
Located in Shuqualak, Mississippi, this lumber company is one of largest privately owned, independent producers of southern yellow pine in the southeast. The Shuqualak Lumber Company was founded in 1948 and currently employs 150 workers.  The sawmill produces #1 to #4 lumber in varying lengths and grades as well as scaffold plank and stadium seating.

Superior Fish Products
Superior Catfish Products was founded by a group of catfish farmers in 1994. The company’s catfish are grown within a 40 mile radius of a 34,000 sq. ft. processing facility located on Highway 45, one mile south of Macon, MS. Superior employees over 150 workers.

Barge Forest Products Company
This company employs 100 workers in Macon, Mississippi. Barge Forest Products Company is a lumber manufacturer and sawmill; this company is family owned and operated.

Trailboss Trailers
Trailboss Trailers manufactures Tag-along, gooseneck, and heavy equipment lowboy trailers.  They also offer full trailer repair service and parts. This company started in 1984 and currently employs 65 workers in Macon.
